As the drug is pregabalin, it is administered orally regardless of meals by dividing the total daily dose into 2 times a day. Since the drug is excreted primarily by the kidneys, the dose should be adjusted for patients with kidney failure. (Refer to “5. Patients with kidney failure”) 1. peripheral and central neuropathic pain 1) peripheral neuropathic pain Adults: This drug can be administered as a starting dose of 150mg per day. The dose can be increased to 300mg per day after 3 to 7 days based on response and tolerance in individual patients. If necessary, it can be increased to a maximum of 600mg per day at intervals of 7 days thereafter. 2) central neuropathic pain Adults: This drug can be administered as a starting dose of 150mg per day. The dose can be increased to 300mg per day after 1 week based on efficacy and tolerance in individual patients. After an additional week, the dose can be increased to the target daily dose of 600mg. A dose reduction may be considered if the target daily dose does not show tolerance. (Refer to '4. Interruption of administration') 2. Epilepsy Adults: This drug can be administered as a starting dose of 150 mg per day. It can be increased to 300 mg per day after one week based on efficacy and tolerance in individual patients. If necessary, the dose can be increased to a maximum of 600 mg per day at intervals of 7 days thereafter. 3. Treatment of fibromyalgia The recommended dose of the drug for fibromyalgia is 300 mg-450mg per day. This drug is administered as a starting dose of 75mg twice a day (150mg a day), and can be increased to 150mg twice a day (300mg a day) within a week based on efficacy and tolerance. For patients who do not experience sufficient efficacy at a dose of 300mg per day, the dose can be increased to 225mg twice per day (450mg per day) within one week. Clinical trials have also been conducted at a dose of 600mg per day, but there is no evidence of additional efficacy or tolerance. Taking into account dose-dependent adverse effects, doses exceeding 450mg per day are not recommended.
